The Bakery Look

Hey Gents!
It’s been ages since we’ve chatted. I missed you so much!
In the meantime, bakeries have become my basic obsession. They remind me of quaint, little towns brimming with quirky residents shopping for cheese and peonies. All about that local charm if you know what i’m saying.
Bakeries project a sense of simplicity and good old-fashion glee. Back when carriages were in order, shops had those cute, wooden signs, and kids begging their parents for the latest wooden train set.
Paris comes to mind when strolling by the bakery. I can only imagine the romantic locals making their way to the shop, grabbing a baguette or croissant for an early morning dose of carb with a newspaper at hand.
Speaking of Paris, I tap my “inner (self-made) Parisian” whenever i’m at the bakery. One of the ways I project this alter ego? romantic gestures of course! (i.e, sashaying towards the counter, topped with a smile). Another is through cheeky tees, like this French Connection piece. In case you’re wondering, the text reads “Make Love,” while the back reads “Not War” in French. Cute, huh?
Aside from my fellow Americans, the Frenchies know how to rock and reinvent denim as well. Exhibit A? the return of the straight-fit jean! From brands like AMI, APC, to Sandro, these are a cult favorite. Extreme cuffing adds an extra touch of interest.
In regards to the Tretorns, they have a way of staying classic and relevant without reaching overkill (AKA the mainstream mania).

I'm Ian, the writer behind CharlesTucket (a mix between Charleston & Nantucket, two of my favorite places). My hope is to inspire every man to live a wholesome & whimsical life, one quirk at a time.
