Charleston: my charming, little hub. There’s nothing like it. From sky-high palmettos to crazy-colored doors, words can’t describe the quirky vibe it exudes.

The city keeps me glued with it’s never-ending list of oxymorons, one being “trendy traditional.”

Charleston acquires a growing young culture that’s re-interpreting traditional mannerisms and style. Whether it be the music, or ground-breaking fashion faux pas that incorporates pastel, Charleston always seems to keep it classy in today’s metropolitan lifestyle.

The mix of Faith and fashion sets Charleston apart.

While it’s not entirely a Christian city, there’s a culture of godly men and women residing. It’s evident. A perfect example? the prominence of Sunday brunch, and the population of church-goers among the people making reservations from one quaint restaurant to another.
Let’s talk fashion. The inspiration radiating from locals is everything. There’s always something cute. Something pastel. Something old-fashioned. Each turn is a surprise.

Just watching the pretty pastel-covered people crossing the street, donning their Lilly Pulitzers and Peter Millars, words can’t describe their dapper outfits complementing the brick walkways.

Their men’s fashion is simply cool. King Street alone, I saw a handful of guys wearing this look:

  • light blue polo shirt
  • stone white shorts
  • leather flip-flops (Sperry – close second)
  • tortoise shades
  • brown leather watch
  • cool hair

The thing is, they own it. Despite the outfit’s repetitiveness and mainstream appeal, this casual getup has a custom look for each and every man. It’s magic.

Battery Park is THE perfect example of happy. Just watching the waves do it’s thing -SO therapeutic. Giant birds flocking together creates a heavenly vibe. Definitely need to plan a morning run for my next visit:)

Did I mention their uh-mazing beaches? Kiawah and Sullivan’s Island are two of my faves. The drive from downtown Charleston is totally worth it. Highly recommend.

Charleston has the perfect dose of chaos and chill. Not necessarily a stressful place, but the busyness can get the worst of people.
I love this place dearly. Can’t wait to be back next summer.
